The Acadiana Amateur Radio Association, Inc. took part in helping with the Cajun Cup 10 K Run & 1 Mile Walk on Saturday November 12, 2005. All volunteers received a nice bright red "Cajun Cup Run" "T" shirt and free food after the race at the food courts. We had 15 volunteers from the AARA that really had some good fun.

Our job was to place amateur radio operators around the race course and report back to the Start/Finish Line the lead runners number, whether they were Male/Female and the time. Also, they were to report any accidents that might need emergency assistance. Only one incident happened that needed ambulance service. The weather was perfect, tempature in the mid 70's and sunny, not a cloud in the sky.
