The AARA Hamfest was held in Rayne, Louisiana on Friday March 13 and Saturday March 14, 2009 at the Rayne Civic Center.
This year the hamfest was dedicated to the memory of John Martin W5SE (aka KA5BSE) who dedicated most of his life to amateur radio.
John was an Elmer to a great many of the hams in the Acadiana area in getting them on the air, pointing them in the right directions,
and helping making decisions and repairs to radio and antennas. He will be greatly missed.
