146.820- 600 PL 103.5 W5DDL EchoLink Node:
759629
The 146.820 W5DDL repeater now has a new home. It is now located on top of the Chase Bank Towers in downtown
Lafayette, LA. It is approximately 250 feet above ground level using a DB-228 antenna, running 10 watts out of
the duplexer. It now has a PL tone of 103.5 which means in order to key up the repeater, you will need to program
your radio(s) to transmit a PL frequency of 103.5.
Also, the repeater transmits a PL tone of 103.5 which means if you enable this feature on your transceiver(s)
receive, you will only hear the 146.820 W5DDL repeater, eliminating the interference from other repeaters on the
same frequency as this one.
146.820 Repeater Update Thanks to Charlie Morrison N5WE,
AARA's new Yaesu DR-1X Dual Band Dual Mode
Repeater went on the air today
(January 14, 2015) at around 1 PM . The first contact was made between Charlie N5WE and Herman KN5GRK. Because
of better receiver sensitivity and more power out, the range of the repeater should be extended by 5 or 10 miles.
Early reports from Tom W5OHJ indicated this to be true, but only time will tell.
Currently the repeater is in
AUTO mode, so if it receives an analog signal it will transmit an analog signal.
The same is true if the
repeater receives a Digital signal. If you want to know more about this
repeater, take a few minutes and watch this YouTube clip:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tNjgHUhhMmA
The elevation is approximately 327 feet above ground and has an output of about 45 watts into a DB-224 antenna.
